The HumbleRIOT team has spent the last 18 months co-creating an album that is VERY dear to us called RED HOT + FELA along with The RED HOT ORGANIZATION. We have been working tirelessly with our co-producer Paul Heck in assembling some of the most amazing artists from all around the world to pay tribute to FELA and his message. PRODUCT(RED) has been our partner on this project and they are currently in the midst of a fundraising effort called RED RUSH where they are leveraging all of their resources to stop mother to child transmission of HIV by 2015. This can be accomplished with YOUR support. We have just released the first song from the album which is an INCREDIBLE rendition of “LADY” performed by TUNE-YARDS, QUESTLOVE from The Roots, ANGELIQUE KIDJO, and AKUA NARU. We had the honor of bringing the members of FELA! ON BROADWAY over to do an intimate performance on The Soho House Roof. The Fela lead with his Queens in tow rocked the roof to the sounds of DJ Manchild Black, & Horns and Percussions. Jazz trumpter Maurice Brown was in the house and even jumped in the mix. BIG UP to Amy Birnbaum, Hannah, and The Fela Cast for a great night..
